An intriguing programme of music for woodwind combines masterpieces by Mozart and Dvorak with the London Premiére of popular local composer Matthew Taylor's Serenata Trionfale, a work inspired by Carl Nielsen's much-loved 'humorous trifle' about a band of wandering players attempting to seduce a lady through their music making. The superb clarinet playing of Stuart King will also be featured in Stravinsky's seminal Three Pieces.

Performers: Alun Darbyshire / Eugene Feild (oboes and cor anglais), Stuart King / Stuart Eminson (clarinets), Phillip Gibbon / Jo Shewan (bassoons), Adam Walters / Martin Grainger / Richard Bayliss (french horns), Judith Fleet (cello) and Lucy Shaw (double bass). Conducted by Tom Hammond.
